sudeerghamapyatra dinam nishaantam vilokya chittam kuruta prashaantam
The poet is addressing the youth when he asks them – Hey Youngsters! How do you consider your youth to be eternal? A day, howsoever long it may be, has to end in the night. Looking at this (understanding that the age will certainly catch up with you), steady your mind.
