Anything, though not brilliant by itself, looks graceful in the company of a distinguished thing. Kohl, though black and dirty by itself, appears splendid when applied to the eyes of a beautiful lady.

न उदके शकटं याति, न च नौः गच्छति स्थले ll
yadashakyam na tat shakyam, yachchhakyam shakyameva tat l
na udake shakaTam yaati, na cha nauh gachchhati sthale ll
That which is impossible is not possible (ever). That which is possible is always possible. The cart does not travel on water and the ship does not travel on land.
