Enmity ends with death. Our job is over. (Now) he (RaavaNa) is mine as he is yours. So do his cremation properly. These are sentences of Shri Raama after the death of RaavaNa on Vijayaa dashami. This reflects our sanskriti. As RaavaNa was dead, his brother BibhishaNa was hesitating for cremation. According to him RaavaNa’s body was not worthy of proper treatment. To this Shri Raama says, now that he is dead, he is not our enemy and deserves proper sanskara.
