अनुकुरुतः खलसुजनावग्रिमपाश्चात्यभागयोः सूच्याः l
विदधाति रन्ध्रमेकः गुणवानन्यस्तु पिदधाति रन्ध्रम् ll
anukurutah khalasujanaavagrimapaashchaatyabhaagayoh soochyaah l
vidadhaati randhramekah guNavaananyastu pidadhaati randhram ll
As if taking after the example of a needle’s fore and aft ends, the evil doer and good person (conduct themselves). One makes a hole and the other noble one, shuts it close.
When a needle is used to sew, the fore end of the needle makes a hole in the material so that it can get through. But as the needle passes out, the aft end – which carries a hole in itself (for the thread), closes the hole (in the material) behind it!
